Our Twenty-fifth Anniversary Party earlier
this year was a wonderful opportunity to
reflect on our many years in business.
A perfect evening at Dutch’s Daughter
Restaurant in Frederick for sixty
current and
former staff,
family members
and friends!
Marvelous food
and much
deserved recognition
for our hard working
employees. Several
surprises occurred
during the evening. A strolling string
ensemble entertained throughoutthe evening. In addition to
awarding service
plaques to all honored staff members,
Sandy Watkins (General Manager
and Chief of our lead paint division)
and Terry Toms (our bookkeeper and
financial wizard)
received an all
expense paid
week long
vacation with
their husbands
to a Mission
Bay,
|
San Diego,
resort and a
weekend stop in Las
Vegas with tickets to see "Blue Man
Group" and""O", the Cirque de Soliel
water extravaganza. Tolerating me for
20 years has its benefits.
I also had the opportunity to announce a new
corporate college scholarship program
for children of our employees, named
the Satterfield
Scholarships, in honor
of Quintin Satterfield, our industrious lead-based
paint inspector, who struggled
to put himself through college driving
a taxi-cab and piecing together odd
jobs to earn his Bachelors Degree and is
now educating his children.
